Dal rock devastante di Iggy Pop e dei suoi Stooges, quando il sole era ancora alto, allo sberleffo punk dei Sex Pistols a notte fonda, con la laguna rischiarata da una grande luna rossa. L’undicesimo Heineken Jammin Festival ha preso il via ieri al Parco San Giuliano di Mestre, dopo la sfortunata edizione dello scorso anno interrotta alla seconda giornata a causa della tromba d’aria. Sedicimila spettatori hanno applaudito nel pomeriggio il tuffo negli anni Novanta offerto dai Queens of the Stone Age e poi il concerto dei Linkin Park, headliner della serata.
Inaugurando il festival, il sindaco di Venezia, Massimo Cacciari, ha sottolineato la volontà della sua amministrazione “di voler fortissimamente cancellare la sfortuna dell’anno scorso. Sarebbe anzi meglio non parlarne proprio, dimenticare e andare avanti” ha aggiunto il sindaco. L’area del Parco San Giuliano è stata messa ancora più in sicurezza: “Abbiamo fatto di tutto e di più″, ha detto l’organizzatore Roberto De Luca di Milano Concerti.
A ricordare quanto avvenne ci hanno pensato i Linkin Park, il cui concerto saltò proprio quella sera. “Non potete immaginare quanto siamo felici di poter essere di nuovo qui con voi” ha detto il cantante Chester Bennington. E Mike Shinoda, musicista e rapper del gruppo californiano, a un certo punto è sceso in mezzo al pubblico per raccogliere uno striscione su cui era stato scritto in inglese: “Dopo la tempesta, di nuovo qui per i Linkin Park”, per poi appenderlo bene in vista alle sue tastiere.
Lo show dei Linkin Park è stato trascinante, con un’apertura decisamente nu metal che ha poi lasciato spazio alla melodia nella parte centrale, più in linea con le atmosfere dell’ultimo e terzo album Minutes to midnight, grazie a brani come In pieces, Leave out the rest e Shadow of the day (che ricorda però in modo impressionante With or without degli U2).
